Frequently Asked Questions
How can I get a library card?
You may request a library card at the circulation desk. All you need
to provide is your name, address, phone number and 2 forms of valid
I.D. (ex. driver's license, soc. sec. card, We will need at least
one of these to sign you up. The other form of ID can be a
utility bill etc.) You must be at
least 5 years old. Parents must provide necessary information and
sign a consent form for children. You will need to bring your
card with you at ALL times including to use the computer.
Can I use my laptop in your library? Yes, we
have wireless access at our library. The Library's Internet
connection , including its wireless connection , is filtered to
comply with the Children's Internet Protection Act. Library
staff is able to provide limited technical assistance. No
guarantee can be provided that you will be able to make a wireless
connection. You must sign in at the desk to use our wireless
service.
How many items can I borrow at a time?
There is no limit placed on adult titles. Children 12 and older may
borrow 4 books at a time. Children 5-11 may borrow 2 books at a
time. Videos and DVDs are limited to 2 (must be over 18 to take out
movies).
What are the time limits for borrowing items?
Videos and DVDs circulate for 7 days. All other items can be
borrowed for 2 weeks. You must be 18 years old to borrow a DVD or
Video.
How can I renew materials?
You may renew materials by:
- coming in with your card and having us renew the items
- coming in and renewing the items on our card catalog
computer or any available computer
- renew in the comfort of your own home by clicking on
"LIBRARY POLICIES" button located on the left hand side of this
page in green.
- From there go to LOAN PERIODS AND RENEWING. Follow the
directions.
You can renew all items except for DVDS and VIDEOS.
How do I reserve an item?
Simply tell us what item you would like held for you and we will put
a reserve on it and let you know when that item is available. You
can also email your request and / or go on to our ONLINE catalog
located in the LIBRARY POLICY SECTION OF THIS WEBSITE and
reserve it right from the site. This will require your barcode
number on the back of your library card.
How much is a fine for an overdue item?
Videos and DVDs are $2.00 per day per video/DVD. There is an
additional $5.00 charge for any rotating videos that are not
returned in time to be taken to the next library on the rotation.
All movies MUST be returned inside. There will be a $1.00 fee
for movies put in the outside drop box.
We do
not charge fines for overdue books but simply ask for a donation.
******There is a $.25 fine per day per item on ALL Interlibrary Loan
materials. Since these items are borrowed from another library,
they are "governed" by their rules. You are allowed to check these
books out for a 2 week period. You can renew them if you call
PRIOR to the original due date.
We do not charge for overdue books but because of the increasing
amounts of over due notices that go out. We are starting to
charge for overdue notices that are sent out. $1.00 for the
first notice, $3.00 for the second, and $5.00 for the third.
Once you are sent a third notice, we also send a request over to the
district judge to help retrieve our material. Please visit the
Library Policy section to find out more about late notices and when
they are issued.
**Anyone owing fines will not be allowed to use ANY library
services until their account has been cleared up. This includes
computer use.

Computers are available from opening until 20 minutes before
closing time.
What
if there is an item I would like but the library does not own it?
Simply ask for us to get you an item through an Inter-Library Loan.
We will have a simple form for you to fill out with the book title,
author etc. You must be a registered patron of the library in
order to obtain an inter-library loan.
